• 1990-1993 – CEO Janice Pellar serves on the national MSS Advisory Council

 In 1962, EMCO was founded as Electronic Maintenance Company, Inc. by Jim Harvey, Jim Murphey and Zelma Harvey for the repair of two-way radios as an authorized Motorola Service Station (MSS). With a staff of three employees, the company grew steadily. In 1986, Jim Murphey retired.

EMCO, a single source communication company, continues to grow as it expands its offerings to customers. Initially the company began with a staff of three providing area businesses with radio equipment; EMCO today employs over 500 people in three separate divisions.
 
EMCO’s reputation is built upon quality products and prompt, on-site service. Today, EMCO continues that tradition of excellence by serving IT customers across the continental US and Communication customers regionally.
 
A period of great change began in 1988 for EMCO as well as many other MSS’s across the country. Motorola decided to market the Radius line of two-way radios through a network of dealer organizations. EMCO was named a Radius dealer and began its first efforts in sales. The Radius line introduction was a great success and convinced Motorola to change the marketing channels to include dealerships such as EMCO in subsequent years.
In 1988 EMCO created an IT Division. Based upon the success of the Radio Division services, the IT Division obtained its first contract for computer maintenance upon its inception. It has steadily grown from the humble beginning of one technician to its present status of a national provider.  The division provides end to end solutions from hardware including wireless access to software and field services including desktop services, network services, helpdesk support, hardware and software refresh, and project management.
In 1989, founders Jim and Zelma Harvey retired from EMCO and named Janice Harvey Pellar President. In 2007, Todd Bourgeois was named President of the IT Division and Patrick Cuntz President of the Communications Division.
